What is Acrylic Render

Due to its popularity, acrylic render is now being manufactured by popular brands such as Rockote, Unitex, and Dulux Acratex.

When compared to cement render, acrylic render has a few differences. One of them is price, wherein acrylic render is a bit more costly. The higher price is due to a few reasons.

  1. It is available in pre-mixed buckets that contain more ingredients than cement render, which offers cement, sand, and lime.
  2. Base coating is usually required before the application of acrylic render.

To achieve an even acrylic render finish, a modified cement render leveling usually acts as a base coat for brick and blockwork. To prevent cracking, it is recommended to leave it to cure for a length of 3 days after which it is acceptable to apply water resistant flexible acrylic membrane coating that will fortify it and prolong its longevity. Acrylic membrane coating application requires the use of many tools that include a nap roller, texture roller, and spray gun among others.
Painted masonry, bricks, fiber cement, plasterboard, and uneven concrete are all material where acrylic render can be applied.

Other benefits in using acrylic render are:

In areas where climates change regularly, Acrylic render is ideal as it stretches according to the temperature. This can greatly reduce the risk of cracking, which is a tremendous benefit.
For wall painting, Acrylic render is also beneficial as it saves you a lot of time by preventing you from having to add one more coat of paint on your wall.

No mixing is required in the use of Acrylic render and you are able to simply trowel and float it to produce favorable results.

You need not mix it and it offers high crack resistance.
